KF colleague spotlight / Lori Cazier
Lori, you joined our Denver showroom team in February 2020. What led you to the showroom, and how were you involved in design prior?
I had wanted to retire after 35 years as an Interior Designer and my husband said, “you are nuts, we have 2 kids in college!”. I was finishing a project when Deb Gerard approached me letting me know there was an opening in the Sample Library and asked if I was interested.
I figured this was my opportunity to move on from working with clients and contractors but remain in the Interior Design world. AND… Now I don’t feel the need to retire anytime soon.

You are reaching your 5-year mark with KF (Congrats!). Being Queen of the Sample Library in Denver – what do you enjoy the most about your role?
“Queen of the Sample Library” is a title Deb gave me – and I don’t know that that is quite true but flattering none the less. I love the organizational aspect of keeping the Sample Library stocked and up to date and of course the best part is seeing all the new collections of each line as they are rolled out.
How would you describe your personal design style/aesthetic?
My personal design style is eclectic. I focus on form and function and am not afraid of bold colors. I am constantly inspired by the many colors of nature beyond blue skies, green grass and trees and sunshine. I get lost in nature and find the many colors quite fascinating.
Which KF supplier products are currently your favorites?
Erden rugs – I was instrumental in their first sale with the Denver showroom for a client. My dream is to own one of Brian’s rugs someday.
ZAK+FOX textiles – I like the boutique feel & variety of textures and patterns.
Samuel & Sons trims – I love the use of trim and find that even the simplest trim elevates the design from nice to Wow!. It’s like jewelry, on a piece of furniture, a window covering & everything else in between, a perfect finish to a product.
Who in our industry inspires you the most, and why?
This is a tough question for me - there are so many inspiring “artists” in the design industry so it’s tough to narrow it down. One artist that I really love is Dale Chihuly. His vibrant colored glass creations with such a large range of patterns, textures and size is quite remarkable. I am fortunate to have seen several of his installations and find them awe inspiring.
