KF Colleague Spotlight - Liz Montgomery

Thursday, November 20, 2025written by Erik Haig
She may have only been on KF’s roster for two years thus far as an Inside Sales Account Manager, but Liz Montgomery is anything but green. A bona fide industry veteran with 25 years of experience in the Denver design community, she’s worked mostly on the showroom side, holding positions ranging from Showroom Manager to Lead Inside Sales to Customer Service. But she has also worked on the design side so she can speak the language of our clients with ease. She’s one classy know-it-all, and we’re extremely grateful we have her on our team. Read on to learn more about Liz!

Liz, you joined our Denver showroom team in September 2023, but you are by no means a newbie to the industry. How long have you been in the industry and what career moves led you to join Team KF?

I’ve been surrounded by design for most of my life. My mother is from High Point, NC and I have deep roots in the industry as my grandfather, William (Bill) Stevens Creech founded and owned Manorcraft Furniture, a handmade sofa and upholstery company in High Point, NC for 25 years from the mid-1960’s until the 1980’s.  Raised in a multi-generational farming family, he learned the business as an outside sales rep for his father-in-law and my great-grandfather, Roy B. Culler’s furniture company, National Upholstery Co., which later sold in the 1970’s. Many extended family members still design and work in the industry.  My mother has always been passionate about furniture and design (and still is!), and I have always greatly appreciated the warmth of her homes.

20+ years ago a friend recruited me (rescued me from the financial world) to fold wallpaper samples for a showroom and suddenly I was the sample librarian in a luxury showroom at the Denver Design Center. I quickly transitioned to sales, worked in two other incredible high-end multi -line showrooms, managed a lovely French furniture showroom and was the Director of Operations and Development at an award-winning design firm. Along the way, I had incredible mentors, learned all facets of the industry, and discovered my passion is working in the showroom; I am so happy to have found my home at Kneedler Fauchère.

You are originally from Chicago – why did you leave the Windy City for the Rocky Mountains?

I’ve always loved Colorado and spent a lot of time here when I grew up. Skiing in Snowmass, Colorado was a family Christmas Holiday tradition. After I graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis, I decided to head west with several of my friends, and I’ve never looked back!

You run one of our very busy Inside Sales desks, working with clients in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Montana, and Wyoming. With all the knowledge you can draw from, what is the most challenging part about what you do but also feels most like second nature?

Actively listening to the needs of our clients for their design projects and offering multiple solutions. I love it when a project comes together and being part of a team where each person’s contribution is integral to a happy client!

Outside of showroom hours, what are your biggest passions?

Spending time with my family, especially my husband Chad, and 6 1/2-year-old Son, Davis. I'm deep into Legos today! Music has always been a passion and happy place- from a young age I attended the symphony and opera in Chicago with my family. Today when time allows, I love live music. Also, I am most at home at the beach; particularly Wrightsville Beach in NC, with my toes in the sand, cocktail in hand and my friends and loved ones nearby.

Which are your top picks from new collections for the Fall 2025 season?

So many amazing collections and few favorites:

The Erden Sylvatica collection is incredible, and I particularly love “Constellation – Natural White” with the embedded metal and merino wool.

The reintroduction of the comprehensive Grandeur Collection from Conrad is fabulous; the intricate details in each handwoven made-to-order shade are a work of artistry! Two favorites are “2291 Mulberry Silk” and “2333 First Light”.

The colorful, playful, and unexpected color palettes and patterns in Pierre Frey’s Lumières Boréales Collection are refreshing. I adore “Lulea”, “Quilt”, “Alta” and “Din”!

Which part of the wonderful world of interiors is the most unique and special to you?

The relationships I’ve made with clients and suppliers over the years. Collaborating on incredible, unique projects and finding the perfect piece that makes a room or home. I love a good A-ha moment!
